Rug Inspection
Before the rug cleaning process begins, we thoroughly inspect the entire rug - including the fringe - for tears, holes, missing face yarns, damaged fringe, pet contamination, insect damage and dyes that have already bled onto other parts of the rug. Then every color on the rug is tested to ensure dye stability. We'll discuss with you any potential problems discovered prior to cleaning your rug.
Soil Removal
Our rug cleaning process begins by removing insoluble soil and any granular impediments that might damage the fibers by thoroughly vibrating the rug from the back.
Washing
Once the insoluble soil is removed, the rug is saturated front and back to loosen remaining soil and to deodorize the fibers. Then special detergents (fully approved by Wools of New Zealand and the Carpet and Rug Institute) are used to gently hand-wash the rug.
Rinsing
Your Oriental rug or Persian rug is then rinsed using an indoor "river" process created by A Cleaner World Carpet Cleaners to completely flush the soil and detergents. This is done by continuously removing the dirty water and rinsing with fresh, clean water on both the front and back sides several times until the water runs clear.
Extraction and Drying
Next, a highly developed water extraction technique is used to extract as much water as possible and dry the rug as quickly as possible. This ensures that your rug dries in a matter of hours. This is critical because dye will bleed and the rug will mildew and rot if left wet for extended periods of time
Fringe Detailing & Final Inspection
Finally, fibers are inspected and "groomed" to set the nap in the direction it was originally knotted. Rugs with fringe are cleaned and detailed after the initial drying process is complete. Worn and dingy fringes are thoroughly cleaned, brightened then groomed using detergents and non-chlorine bleaches.
A final inspection is done after four to six hours on our drying racks. This includes looking for any missed spots; odors, dye bleed, and re-check for dry soil removal that was performed "Soil Removal." Once the rug has passed this inspection process, we package and label the rug and make ready for delivery to your home or office.
